Portfolio Managers

Our Portfolio Managers (PMs) head each of our investing teams and some also lead development teams. All started out as investment team members earlier in their times at Penn, and have the knowledge and experience to mentor younger students.

Consumer Retail


Brandon Li

Brandon is a senior from Austin, Texas studying finance and accounting in Wharton and computer science in SEAS. He has been with the retail team in WITG since his freshman year. Outside of school, he enjoys playing music, following football, balling in pick-up, and talking about Texas.

Gowtham Balaji

Gowtham is a junior from East Brunswick, New Jersey studying finance and accounting. He interned at a distressed hedge fund after his sophomore year, and will be working in restructuring this coming summer. Gowtham loves playing pickup basketball and following the NBA. 



Arjun Govind

Hailing from Bangalore, India, Arjun Govind is a junior in Wharton studying Finance and Business Analytics. Arjun joined WITG in his sophomore year, and he’s most excited by applications of technology and data in finance. An aspiring venture capitalist, Arjun spent this past summer at Accel looking at SaaS opportunities in healthcare. In his free time, Arjun enjoys playing chess, cooking, and watching the Packers. 



Whitney Elmlinger

Whitney is a junior in Wharton from Connecticut, studying Finance and Business Analytics. She spent her previous summer in Morgan Stanley's Financial Sponsors and M&A groups and will be returning to their investment banking division next summer. In her free time, Whitney enjoys figure skating, hiking, and watching the New York Rangers.


Ryan Douglas

Ryan is a senior from South Florida concentrating in Finance and Real Estate. He spent his previous summer at Lazard in their Capital Structure Advisory group, and will be joining Evercore's Restructuring team after graduating. Previously, he worked at Pharus Advisors in Technology M&A and Morgan Stanley in Wealth Management. In his free time, Ryan enjoys playing classical and jazz piano, backpacking, reading, and exploring the world.

Global Macroeconomic


Adithya Adaikalavan

Adithya is a senior in Wharton from Princeton, NJ intending on concentrating in Finance and Statistics with a minor in French. He will be working full-time at Houlihan Lokey in their Financial Restructuring group post-graduation and has previously worked in leveraged finance. He formerly served as the VP of Finance for WITG and is the current Portfolio Manager of the Global Macro investment team. In addition to WITG, he is a member of Intercol, Penn’s college Model United Nations team. Outside of school, Adithya enjoys soccer, cooking, and traveling.



Michael Lu

Michael is a senior in the LSM program from the Philly suburbs studying Finance and Biology. He joined WITG during his sophomore year and really enjoys learning about the ever-changing healthcare industry. Michael interned at Moelis & Company in Los Angeles last summer and will be returning full-time after graduation. In his free time, Michael loves to play tennis, go on road trips, eat Korean BBQ, and listen to EDM/Rap music. 


Alexis Megibow

Alexis is a junior from New York City in the Vagelos Life Sciences & Management program studying finance and biology. She has been involved in WITG since the end of her freshman year and loves learning about the healthcare industry. This past summer she worked at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals and will be joining the healthcare investment banking group at Goldman Sachs next summer. 


Zan Ahmed

Zan is a junior from Long Island in the Huntsman Program, studying Finance, Accounting, and International Studies.  Zan spent last summer interning in New York at Apollo Global Management in the real estate PE group. Next summer, he will be interning at Morgan Stanley in the investment banking division.  Outside of WITG, Zan enjoys playing golf and tennis, and rooting for the Yankees and Islanders.



Tiger Zhang

Tiger is a senior from Maryland studying finance and accounting in the Wharton school. Previously, he interned with Copeland Capital Management’s investment team and Guggenheim Partners’ M&A advisory team. Tiger will be joining Evercore’s Restructuring group full-time after graduation. In his free time, Tiger enjoys singing a cappella with the Pennchants, lifting, and playing basketball.


Andrew Pechock

Andrew is a senior from New Jersey studying finance, business analytics and management. He has spent his previous summers in asset management and investment banking (Industrials). In his free time, Andrew enjoys lifting, reading and watching movies.


Brendan Burns

Brendan is a Wharton student concentrating in finance, accounting, and healthcare management. Brendan is also a member of the varsity lightweight rowing team at Penn and enjoys reading in his free time.

Quantitative Investment Strategies (QIS) 


Vivian Li

Vivian is a senior studying finance, statistics, and math at Penn. After joining WITG as a freshman on the Healthcare team, she joined the Quantitative Investment Strategies team in sophomore year and has been involved since then. She has interned at the SEC, JP Morgan, and AQR. Outside of school, she loves listening to podcasts, dance, and interactive fiction.

Real Estate


Angelica Zhou

Angelica is a Senior in Wharton from Michigan studying Finance, Real Estate, and BEPP. She has been involved in WITG since her freshman year previously as EVP of External and a member of the Consumer / Retail investment team. Last summer, she interned at Goldman Sachs in the Real Estate Private Equity group where she will be joining full time. She has also interned in Sales & Trading at Goldman Sachs. Outside of class, Angelica enjoys barre, yoga, and reading


Iman Tajadod

Iman is a junior in the Huntsman Program, targeting French and concentrating in Finance and Statistics. He has worked in the Financial Products group at Jackson Hewitt, and covered public equities and underwrote real estate acquisitions at City Hall Capital, a multi-asset family investment fund. He will be interning at Ares in the Real Estate Debt Group next summer. Outside of WITG, he is a member of the IAA. In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball and listening to music.

Special Situations Group (SSG)

Clifford Yeo

Clifford is a senior in Wharton studying Finance and Business Analytics. He was previously Co-President of WITG. After graduation, he will be joining KKR’s Private Equity team in New York. He has previously interned at PJT Partners (Restructuring and Special Situations Group), Marshall Wace (long short hedge fund strategy), GIC (EM public equity), and Quadra Capital (private equity). In his free time, Clifford enjoys scuba diving, going outdoors, baseball, poker, and soccer (Manchester United).


Max Bai

Max is a Wharton senior from Toronto, Canada concentrating in Finance and Accounting. He is the current Portfolio Manager of the Special Situations Group and was President of WITG during the 2018 – 2019 school year, having previously served as the VP of Investing and the VP of Membership. In addition, Max teaches the WITG Development Team and held leadership positions in two student-run investment funds; he is a current investment team member and former sector leader of Global Platinum Securities (GPS) as well as the former Chief Investment Officer of the Pennsylvania Investment Alliance (PIA). Max worked this past summer at Houlihan Lokey’s Financial Restructuring Group (Global Financial Restructuring, Distressed M&A, and Special Situations) in New York and will be returning to the Group in a full-time capacity after graduation. Max previously worked as a hedge fund summer analyst at Julian Robertson’s Tiger Management in New York and as an investment summer analyst at Cidel Asset Management in Toronto. In his free time, Max enjoys practicing karate and exercising; he also loves investing, poker, soccer, and classical music.


Yin Wang

Yin is a senior in Wharton from Toronto, Canada, studying Finance and Business Analytics. She joined the WITG board freshman year; previously serving as Marketing Junior Board, VP of Marketing and the WITG EVP of Internal. In addition to WITG, she is the current Chief Operating Officer of the Pennsylvania Investment Alliance (PIA). Professionally, she has interned at Vista Equity Partners, Goldman Sachs’ Investment Banking Division (FIG), and Evercore M&A. After graduation, she will be joining Warburg Pincus full-time as a private equity analyst. In her free time, Yin enjoys hot yoga, traveling, photography, and exploring new cafes and restaurants.

Tactical Opportunities

Tai Zhang

Tai is a senior in Wharton studying finance, statistics, and minoring in mathematics in the College. Tai previously interned at hedge funds P. Schoenfeld Asset Management (PSAM) and Anchorage Capital Group working on distressed debt and special situation investments. He anticipates returning to Anchorage Capital full-time as an investment analyst. Besides investing, Tai is a fan of taking bad beats in poker, EDM, and hitting the pool.

Shawn Kianmahd

Shawn is a senior in Wharton concentrating in finance and management. He spent his previous summers at a distressed debt hedge fund, Beach Point Capital, and Blackstone’s Tactical Opportunities Group. He anticipates returning to Blackstone full-time as an investment analyst. In his free time he enjoys surfing, playing poker, and intramural soccer.

Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT)


Andrew Ciatto

Andrew is a senior in Wharton studying Finance and Management and is one of the TMT PMs. He has been a part of the team since his freshman year. He has interned in quant finance, venture capital, and growth equity. Andrew is a huge Boston Celtics fan, loves to hike, and just generally be outdoors and active. Michael Springer

Michael is a senior at Wharton studying finance. He is originally from San Francisco, and has interned with the growth equity team at ICONIQ Capital and at Qatalyst Partners. 


Karl Valentini

Karl is a senior from Montreal concentrating in finance and statistics at Wharton. He has been involved with WITG since freshman year and been on several investment teams, including the TMT, Special Situations Group and Tactical Opportunities teams. This past summer, he interned at Morgan Stanley in investment banking in their Global Technology Group in Menlo Park. He will be joining Silver Lake Partners full-time in New York. In his free time, he enjoys running, traveling and following soccer (Tottenham Hotspur).
